MBS Workwear and Embroidery is part of a long established independent Merchant, offering supplies to both the trade and the general public alike, throughout Merseyside, Warrington, Wirral, Manchester and the North-West area as a whole.
 We have an exciting opportunity for the role of Part Time or Full Time Embroidery & Print Operative, to be based at our Head Office in Liverpool L5.

Main Purpose of Job

This is a part time position selling Clothing and PPE within our MBS store based in Liverpool and online at E-bay.
The ide​​​al candidate will have a background knowledge of retail, with direct experience in the garment decorating and print industry and be enthusiastic to learn new skills.
The position will involve computer use, general office skills, use of embroidery machines and transfer application technologies, cash handling and direct sales to tradesman and general public.
We run a single and multi-head embroidery machine, a print-cut machine and sublimation printer. so experience in the industry would be advantageous, but full training will be given.
This position may require the handling of heavy boxes and standing for most of the day, there is a low-moderate noise level associated with working with embroidery machinery.

Duties & Key Responsibilities

Operating embroidery machines
Operating print cutters, sublimation printers and heat presses
Using computers and software relevant to the job, full training will be provided
Using bespoke order processing software, full training will be provided Inspecting and maintaining equipment
​​​​​​​Finishing & quality control of items
Packing completed orders
General Office skills
Cash Handling Direct sales to tradesman and the general public
Stock maintenance
Telephone communication skills
Working on print and cutting machinery
Using heat press machinery
Using embroidery machinery


Some print and embroidery experience would be an advantage
An interest in Arts, Crafts and Textiles desirable
Excellent attention to detail required
Excellent personal and organisational skills
Self motivation and positive attitude towards work with the ability to self-supervise when needed
Excellent computer skills and the interest to learn new software
Enthusiasm to learn new skills
Friendly and engaging personality and an ability to work well in a team
Transferable skills from a similar role would be an advantage
Previous experience using Corel Draw and Wilcom would be advantageous but not essential

Package and Benefits

Hours of work: Part Time 27.5 hours per week, 7.30 am to 1.00 pm, Monday to Friday. Full Time 7.30 am to 5.00 pm Monday to Friday. (Overtime is available / Hours are negotiable)
Salary: £8.00 per hour
